The commission examined two residential strategies for a 143 m² investment property: a three-bedroom luxury apartment and shared student accommodation.
The irregular footprint combines an angled entrance passage with a wider area facing the exterior openings. Each option had to balance circulation, bedroom provision and shared facilities within the same boundaries.
For the luxury apartment option, CcBcN Architecture grouped the kitchen, dining and sitting areas into a generous shared space, with an island defining the kitchen without enclosing it. The student option provided more bedrooms, incorporated study furniture and concentrated shared kitchen, dining and bathroom facilities within the plan.
The property was sold with the luxury apartment proposal, without the renovation being carried out. The project therefore documents two design alternatives and the proposal accompanying the sale, rather than a completed refurbishment.
