The commission combined the refurbishment and interior decoration of a 75 m² Barcelona apartment, adapting its domestic spaces while retaining the patterned floors and timber-beamed ceilings.
The existing layout placed a compact bathroom and enclosed kitchen beside the central circulation area. The challenge was to improve these everyday functions without losing the character and proportions of the adjoining rooms.
CcBcN Architecture retained two enclosed bedrooms, enlarged the bathroom and opened the kitchen towards the circulation and living spaces. This selective reorganisation connects daily activities while preserving privacy. White kitchen cabinetry and joinery provide a restrained background to the original materials.
The completed interior balances continuity with targeted change. Grey walls, red seating and green lighting accents distinguish individual areas, while the retained tile patterns give the connected rooms a consistent architectural identity.
