The refurbishment of this 42 m² apartment brought living, dining, sleeping and bathroom functions into a compact interior while retaining the character of its masonry walls and timber ceiling.

The existing plan divided the limited floor area into several small rooms. The design challenge was to provide privacy and clearly defined uses without recreating the same enclosed arrangement.

CcBcN Architecture removed internal divisions and concentrated bathroom functions within an enclosure that stops below the ceiling. Translucent panels screen these spaces while preserving light and the visual continuity of the timber beams. A linear kitchen keeps the centre available for circulation and dining, with red cabinetry establishing a clear focal point.

The completed apartment reads as one connected interior, with distinct functional areas defined by carefully placed elements rather than a succession of full-height walls.
